Recently I disabled three powersaving setting in bios, that's cpu/pci
device/pci-e device powersaving. After that, there is no hang issue in
Linux and display driver reset issue in win7 RC. There are still other
issues but I don't think it's related to hang/system restart.
I will re-enable these

Packages. Note that the Packages detected Dialog box is not on screen.
The File Browser shows that there are two folders on the CD, and this is
a CD -R. Inside those two folders are thousands of Packages. Screenshot

OK I'm in 8.04 again, and have to say that there were no instructions
with the repository set of DVD's and CD's for 8.04, which I got in May
the first set and when I ran into problems with Add CD not working, I
told the Flipside Technologies about it and he sent me a new set that
arrived here just

If it were a case of bad Media, then Add CD in 7.10 would not have
worked with this new set of CD's and DVD's that are all the repositories
of 8.04 Ubuntu 32 Bit (Bought from Flipside Technologies
-www.thelinuxstore.ca.) That it did work makes the problem somewhere
else, perhaps the software

When I did the install with my AGP x 8 Nvidia 550 Card in the computer
Ubiquity caused the Acer LCD Monitor AL1914 to go out of range. It made
an out of range error.

version. Someone gave me a link to GetDeb. From there I downloaded and
installed Gnucash2.2.4 for Ubuntu 7.10 32bit, and Gnucash2.2.5 for Ubuntu 8.04
32bit, this fixed the problem for now. Gnucash2.2.1

yesterday I installed hardy heron and with it also openoffice.org 2.4. Now
it's all ok!

Lee's fix works for me. In fact explicitly applying only the 04_use-
sysfs.patch breaks a working copy.
When I built this before from source I naively ran configure, make, and
make install. I didn't realize that by doing that I was bypassing the
application of the patches.
