I had a similar problem, and found a workaround. All I did was completely remove the three folders in ~/.thumbnails: fail, large and normal. Nautilus then re-reads the metadata and assigns new icons to all the files on the computer. I hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification

Up until May this year, my computer was running Windows 7. It didn't cause any problems until I switched to Ubuntu. I don't have a reason to believe my hardware was damaged between running Windows and Ubuntu, unless I somehow damaged my system while installing Ubuntu, which I don't think is
