I am having the same issue with my Asus K52JT laptop. This laptop has
'Elantech' touchpad so I fixed the `asus-touchpad.sh` accordingly (see
the attachment). Now the problem is that, touchpad is only
enable/disable in GDM screen. Once I logged in, acpid is throwing the
same error.
No protocol
I think I found the solution. Here is the update `asus-touchpad.sh` (for
Elantech touchpad). The trick is to run the `xinput` with current user
test $user alias xinput=sudo -u $user xinput
Now, if user is logged in the `xinput` command will be run with the

1.97 is a major rewrite of powertop. It doesn't work on ARM anymore
(that the cherrypicks fixed in the older version).
I'd like to figure out a way to rename the older package to powertop-arm

I was trying to cross-compile the kernel using the command 'xdeb -aarmel
--only-explicit --apt-source linux-linaro-omap'. I am not entirely sure
where the problem lies - toolchain, xdeb or the kernel packaging. Filing
this so it doesn't get lost.
My log is also littered with application crashes all over (evince,
gnome-terminal, eog, gvfs-smb, banshee, etc.) that seem to link back to
libglib. And I am using the Classic desktop since I'm using a nouveau
driver. Should I file separate bugs for each of these?

It could be due to service outage in your area. I am seeing frequent
disconnection problem here (device disconnects regularly on 250mb of

Can this patch be included in the PowerTOP package, targeting the Maverick
Can't see this problem on a Babbage 3.0 board with a mainline kernel and
nfs-root maverick filesystem. Hopefully, I did the right test.

If all you need for a buildd is a serial console and ethernet, then
mainline u-boot + kernel supports Babbage 2.5 and 3.0 boards.
So the buildds could be upgraded to maverick after some testing.
