flgrx driver worked fine until i did a apt-get dist-upgrade. A huge
bunch of updated packages were installed. i shut down my laptop and
started it later again. Then i recognized that i had no 3d support and
figured out that the fglrx driver wasn't activated any longer. I

same for me. after installing the fglrx driver i rebootet the system.
then tried to log in to unity. after i had entered my user credentials a
windows popped up (before the desktop was loaded). this pop up told me
that i can't use unity and asked me to load the ubuntu classic session.
i clicked on
I did the update but the crash still occurs. i now figured out that it
happens either while booting or while the login happens. last time it
happened the clock on the top panel showed 9:26 pm when it appeared
after login but the crash file was from 9:25 pm.
is it maybe related to this bug?

i have installed the new X stack but after a reboot it crashed again but
without freeze. The freeze was also gone with the old packages. I can't exactly
tell you whether it is the same problem or not since apport crashed too before
it showed the description. But i found a crash report in
happened on macbook 2,1. clicked on try ubuntu. nothing happened except
showing the wheel. after a couple of minutes i clicked on x to close the
window. the system bootet into the live cd and the crash report
appeared.
