I have enabled UXA also and while the performance problems are
significantly reduced, I would not say they are gone. It's still

It has not been unstable for me with UXA however there are some other

I have one of these new Dells as well; same problems here. I don't see
a way to make Intrepid usable without disabling acpi completely.
(...and losing a CPU.)
To answer a question above: a lot of the ICH10 support is fairly new.
I'm not convinced that the real problem isn't in Dell's firmware.
Per Hermansson, cheers.
Your patch allows me to successfully connect to the network at my
school. I'll try it at work tomorrow, but I'll bet the "hidden SSID"
issue with this plasmoid prevents that from working.

This worked like a champ for me. added the line then regenerated the initramfs,
no more problems.
I've got kubuntu installed on a USB stick, so it was painfully obvious
this is not specific to Ubuntu, either - my Gentoo box has the same
problem
also, this isn't a KDE problem at all, it's more a problem of CIFS in
the linux kernel

This is a partial dup of 330811, but that defect only refers to the

broadcasts ESSID.

"Disabling DRI in the xorg config eliminates the problem (but also

This doesn't work for me. I've disabled GLX and DRI and the problem
still exists on my ibook 7500 mobility radeon using the FOSS drivers.
I'm assuming the reports on here are getting pushed upstream to X.org
