I'm reluctant to apply this patch, because I can't reproduce the bug.
I am using Linux Mint 13 and the latest trunk source code. The Import

What is the source of this file? I've tried it on Openshot 1.4.2 and it
doesn't eat all the memory, it gets imported as a zero length file.
MLT (melt) shows the message "[matroska @ 0x8620be0]Estimating duration
from bitrate, this may be inaccurate".
FFMpeg shows:

So what happens if you double click the clip while it is in the project
files tree?

Later versions of Ubuntu have the required version of python-gdata (as
mentioned by IRIE). So this shouldn't be a problem any more on the

If anyone's paying attention, I finally got it to work by ripping out my
Nvidia 9400 card and now use the integrated motherboard graphics. I
didn't actually try it with Ubuntu in the end, but it works with Linux
Mint & OpenSuse.

This is probably caused by using libcairo2 1.9.6-6~mrw4, from the
ppa:matthaeus123/mrw-insane-build PPA. You need to downgrade back to the
Ubuntu package version 1.8.10-2ubuntu1 of libcairo2. The reason for the
segfault is that Openshot uses the python bindings for libcairo, the PPA
does not includ

Once you have dragged the effect onto a clip item on the track, you then
need to right click on the clip and set the properties for the effect.
On the effects tab there is a preview window where you can see how your
settings affect the clip.
