I had to configure my BIOS manually to point to both ESP partitions.
Installing new kernel is still a thrilling experience, but so far reboots were
smooth.

I.e. the timezone information in libicu52 (Ubuntu 14) is as old as 2013g.
The "newest" shipped tzdata in Bionic is 2017c, which is about as "new" as the

Yes, it was changed some time ago. Probably at the same time Subversion
implemented "lighter version" of protocol for times, when a full blown
FS is not required.

After recent upgrade to CUPS 1.5.3, my HP LJ 4L connected via USB adapter
printing what looks like command leftovers from previous job before printing
the next job - judging from

The PPD version (5.2.5 Simplified) is not compatible with Gutenprint
5.2.8-pre1.
The machine was over the years upgraded from Hardy Heron (8.04).

For ifup it is enough that interface is present and configured in
/etc/network/interfaces. Or you can just tell to start all configured
interfaces.

Attempting to boot LiveCD under VirtualBox in EFI mode falls to the console
shell.
Checking the VT7, the issue seems equal to #834592, but no mentioned
workarounds that I've tried helps.
At the same time, running installation from the same disk in the same VM go
without m
VirtualBox, newly created disk image, BIOS boot. Same issue. Crashes as it scan
for partitions.
Additionally, is unable to open the bug page in browser as well.

It seems I have this issue (not as drastic, the installer works... somewhat)
with 12.04-a2 CD image.
Trying to boot it in VirtualBox in EFI mode, the message
error: "prefix" is not set
appears briefly, then replaced by "GNU GRUB" menu with 3 usual entries
(LiveCD/Install/Check for defects).
