In fact if you drag and drop a file icon from file browser to a command
line, it inserted without back slashes. If the convention is to use
slashes for spaces, then it should insert slashes to make file name
appropriate.

I now use Intrepid, and Cyrillic works well, although I disabled boot-up
splash screen. There are reports from other users in Russian forums that
they experience problems with Cyrillic similar to described above when
the splash screen is enabled.

The themes HAVE those icons. For example ANY icon theme have its own
icon for folder. But in most themes folders shows with defauld icons.
Anyway, the themes are parts of Ubuntu and this means this bug belongs
here. Maintainers need nothing more than simply creating missing
simlinks.
