After some investigations, it turns out that the problem appears if one selects
the "Redglass" or "Handhelds" cursors in gnome-tweaks -> Appearance -> Cursor.
Any other choice I tried seem to work, though.

Regarding the supertux2 problem, I think the permissions are ok (see
below), as my user is in the group video and the system sets the ACL
correctly. Note that the device is /dev/dri/card0 though (not video0).

The 14-generic kernel seems to work also on mi eeepc 1000 hd, i.e. tiling is
