[Bug 83957] Re: Cracking noise on Canon lide30, possibility for hardware failure

2014-12-15 Thread Antti Miranto
I no longer have this Canon Lide 30, scrapped it year or two ago. If I recall correctly this affected Precise 12.04 as well, but I have no way to test it now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/b

[Bug 891825] Re: NFS client doesn't mount or mounts slow on startup on 11.10

2013-01-25 Thread Antti Miranto
wowo, I believe that "From Linux manual: Options for NFS versions 2 and 3 only. nfsvers=n:" isn't unambiguous at least for me it worked like this. With nfsvers=4 exactly same problems come up as with nfs4. Setting this nfsvers=3 resolves it but downgrades protocol to nfs3. I remember beating my he

[Bug 525154] Re: mountall for /var races with rpc.statd

Fixed this by making upstart watch ower the rpc.idmapd. Might be bit cleaner. ** Patch added: "idmapd.conf.diff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/525154/+attachment/1796074/+files/idmapd.conf.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubunt

[Bug 523587] Re: /etc/init/mounted-tmp.conf uses find, which is in /usr/bin

2011-01-06 Thread Antti Miranto
How about: start on (mounted MOUNTPOINT=/tmp and mounted MOUNTPOINT=/usr) Somehow this mounted-tmp.conf has to block others until it has done. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/523587 Tit

[Bug 148534] Re: User can shutdown machine even if others are logged in

2009-02-10 Thread Antti Miranto
I got hit by this too! I need to disable users ability to shut down the machine, but the authorizations-console doesn't do a thing. So how I'm gone do that? I too can't understand why this is on a wishlist. This seems to be violation of Unix principles and allowing ohter users to accidently shut d

[Bug 83957] Re: Cracking noise on Canon lide30, possibility to hardware failure

2008-04-19 Thread Antti Miranto
I have now tried with Hardy, with strange results. It worked sometimes, but other times (still) the cracking noise appeared. Now I tested it more thoroughly so I'm not sure if anything has changed. In year 2007 it seemed not to work at all, but then I didn't "push" it as hard as this time. I tried

[Bug 51552] Re: Can't set mouse speed (only acceleration and treshold)

2007-12-06 Thread Antti Miranto
This is not actually bug. It is critically missing feature which renders all new high resolution mouses useless. Is this still valid? Probably, but there have been progress in upstream. New X (7.3) which seem to be included to upcoming Hardy will allow more elaborate settings in xorg.conf. As xorg

[Bug 83957] Cracking noise on Canon lide30, possibility to hardware failure

2007-02-08 Thread Antti Miranto
Public bug reported: When I try to use Xsane, scanner initializes fine, but when scanning should start it makes loud cracking noise like trying to move reading head to wrong direction. This same problem appeared in Dapper and Edgy with all updates. I'm quite sure that this could lead to broking
