Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde

Using Kubuntu 6.10, i have the panel on the bottom of the desktop, set
to "hide immediately" after the mouse cursor leaves it (and to reappear
when i touch the bottom). The position i set for the panel is bottom
centered (100% length). The problem is that sometimes the panel
disappears; if i move the mouse to any screen edge the panel does not
appear.

This happened as well on at least 6.06. Why this happens, i do no know;
as far as i can tell it's random. The current workaround is Alt+F2 >
kcontrol > desktop > panels. Like i said above, the panel is supposed to
be centered, but when i enter "panels" it is marked as being at the
bottom left corner.

When i set it to the center and apply changes, everything starts working
again. Also, as long as i change any setting and >APPLY<, the panel
starts working again.
