I updated from dapper (a long time ago) and usplash-theme-ubuntu is
installed, but I've still have the "screen test" usplash.

Thanks Collin, I encountered the same issue with my swiss french locale on a
i386 architecture when starting firefox.
The error message is :
"Erreur d'analyse XML : entité non définie
Emplacement : chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
Numéro de ligne 1140, Colonne 9 :https://launchpad.ne
I also encouter some problems with the wireless on this laptop with the
last kernel (2.6.17-7-generic). It is detected as the following output
states it :
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci | grep Atheros
04:02.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC
(rev 01)
But Network
I confirm this is fixed with linux-image-2.6.17-5-686 which is in the
repos.
