I'm a bit hesitant to mention this as it may be a red herring - and my system has been stable and not hung due to pure coincidence - but I installed an OEM kernel yesterday and haven't experienced my regularly scheduled daily hang since: sudo apt install linux-oem-20.04 linux-tools-oem-20.04

OK, according to lots of reading stuff over the internet and trying things out for myself, I think the problem is that there are some packages containing modules with the same names that cause conflicts with this one. So try doing this: sudo apt-get remove --purge linux-backports-modules-* Then
