Hmm, reassignment didn't happen, fixing this. Also unassigning from me,
I'm not the person to fix this.

tzdata has now been split into a separate package that things can depend
on directly.
belocs-locales-data is no longer in main.
I'll add a task for this for icu and python-tz.

initrd-tools isn't expected to be generally working for most people now.
It's still there largely for historical reasons.
Please use initramfs-tools on breezy, dapper and newer releases.

This problem probably still exists:
while [ ! -x ${rootmnt}${init} ]; do
panic Target filesystem doesn't have ${init}
done
It could probably be tweaked to realpath it and append it to ${rootmnt}
or something like that.
Marking as low priority - anyone playing with their init can set
initrd-tools is not current, won't fix in that.

Confirmed that I see this with current edgy, but if you stop and start
gdb between each iteration the backtrace is fine.
Nothing here smells like glibc, however, so I'm reassigning it to gdb.

Nope, the upload today wasn't that fix. We discovered today during the
toolchain bof at the development summit that the gcc-4.1 that glibc had
been built against was too old, and didn't include the stack smashing
protection code. This was essentially a simple rebuild against a newer
compiler.
/share/locale, also look in /usr/share/locale-langpack.
But even with all our patches removed, it's still not searching for the
coreutils.mo file. That was the build that I ran overnight last night.
More hacking to come.
Tks,
Jeff Bailey

Yup, I've spent a couple days on it and am running more builds now to
test fixes for the problem. As always it's impossible to promise a fix
time, but this is the only bug I'm working on right now.
