Right now installing `nvidia-driver-4(4|5)0-server` (ubuntu/multiverse)
will install the entire gnome-shell stack which pulls in a lot of IMHO
unrelated and unwanted software including printer services, input
drivers, pulseaudio, and more graphical things normally not desired
I'm on 19.04 and I seem to be able to reproduce this at least once a day
while I leave my screen locked overnight.
Am willing to provide logs and core dumps if possible.
Just let me know how/what you need to capture.

I had a very similar problem, except that I was using Eclipse rather
than emacs. Perhaps a solution might be as follows: Rather than download
the file from the server every time, compare the time stamps and

Happened to me too with the amd64 alternative install cd (reported bug
