my syslog was getting spammed with:
kernel: nouveau :01:00.0: fifo: SCHED_ERROR 20 []
which led to a full /tmp
Adding "nouveau.modeset=0" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT got rid of
that.
