On Ubuntu Server, installing ipython pulls in a lot of unnecessary
packages:
aptitude install ipython
The following NEW packages will be installed:

Renaming .gtkrc-2.0 or deinstalling qtcurve doesn't fix inkscape for me.
But both comix and anjuta start without issues here, even with qtcurve
activated. Perhaps these crashes aren't as related as the final error
message makes them appear...

I get the same error when starting inkscape, too, also on Kubuntu 10.10.
I attached a gdb backtrace with as many dbg-packages installed as I
could find in the inkscape dependency tree. But obviously I missed a
few, so feel free to ask for another backtrace with additional dbg-
packages installed.

Same problem here. Until a couple days ago, my Thinkpad T400 woke up
from sleep without a hitch. Then. the symptoms that katsudon describes
appeared. I also noticed characters in Firefox becoming corrupted a few
seconds after wake-up. The complete freeze can be prevented by switching
to a TTY and

card may play a role. My laptop (ThinkPad T400) has both a discrete
graphics card (ATi 3470 or something like that) and an onboard Intel

My computer shows the same (or a similar) bug. dd and klogd cause
considerable load (50% each) and several logfiles (messages, kern.log,
syslog) grow at a staggering pace. I actually noticed the problem when
those logs used up all the available space.

I upgraded to feisty a few weeks ago, so I can't confirm edgy still
suspends with my setup. However, I learned that 'fglrx' is the culprit
in most cases. Since about four months, all new fglrx versions break
suspend-to-ram and there is no workaround as far as I know.
