Same pb for me, Ubuntu 7.10 i386 with Gnome and ATI Radeon 9250.
It's been happening quite often during the last few weeks (maybe firefox 3 beta
4 & 5 ?), not making anything "weird" like Alt+TAB... ;o)
Issueing gtk-window-decorator each time solves the problem.
