Kamal, the fix (brightness) works perfectly for Dell 14R series laptops
(N4010). Thanks a lot! I hope this soon makes it into the official
kernel.

I am having the same problem on a Dell XPS 1210 notebook running Edgy
(2.6.17-10-generic). The system locks up only when booting with the
ipw3945 kill switch turned on.
Can we expect an official fix for this (on 2.6.17-10-generic) anytime in
the near future?
