I don't what exactly fixed the problem, but one of the many updates during the last days has fixed the problem. I'm still using xserver-xorg-input-wacom version 0.7.9.3-2ubuntu2, but now I am able to login using the xorg.conf from above. I am finally able to use my tablet in Hardy. I hope this
