I don't what exactly fixed the problem, but one of the many updates during the
last days has fixed the problem.
I'm still using xserver-xorg-input-wacom version 0.7.9.3-2ubuntu2, but now I am
able to login using the xorg.conf from above.

I tried to activate the tablet of my X61T in Hardy using
0.7.9.3-2ubuntu2.
I added the nessary lines in xorg.conf.
GDM starts normal and the tablet works normal.
Once I log in can hear the ubuntu-jingle then the screen turns

the ServerLayout Section.
