I can confirm this, I'm running KXStudio 10.04.2. I'm not aware of any
PPAs providing >=2.18, and from my limited experimentation a moment ago,
it seems to require an upgrade/compilation of quite a few cairo and
pygtk related packages in order to compile the required package.

I think that what's happened there is that the cd contains the drivers,
and ubuntu saw no reason to grab it from the internet... and presumably
asked to insert the cd, and then jockey timed out because it was waiting
for user intervention that was impossible to give?
