Windows 10 fully patched and Ubuntu 20.04.2 VMs were working up to about
a month ago when they both started to crash with BSOD and kernel panic.
Deleted the image and tried to install a new one, but Windows just keeps
crashing with various BSOD errors during ISO boot, like

Same on Ubuntu 17.10 with the latest updates and encrypted file system.
During boot the process stops at the Ubuntu label with the 5 dots and
does nothing else, but generates these messages.
