I don't see the other users affected. I have moved on from this
attempt, and this failure is no longer of interest to me. Given that a
year has gone by, I assume there is nothing of interest in this report,
and it should be closed.

Public bug reported:
This is a usability issue -- I have not been able to get Sept. 20th
quantal-desktop-amd64.iso build of 12.10 (size 801112064) cksum
414541630, to successfully install. Not in a VirtualBox virtual
machine, nor as a second install as a dual-boot configuration.

As I said in my last note, on 2009-11-09, I'm convinced that the problem was
that the
machine lost power while suspending. If the data structures don't record whether
the state save completed, the resume would behave in this way. I don't have a

On further testing, I'm convinced that the problem I saw was due to the
machine powering down while it was performing the suspend operation --
the only peculiarity is that the crescent moon light on the machine was
lit, as though it had been suspended -- it just didn't respond to any
wake-up
Public bug reported:
I used the suspend keyboard keys, which have been working (since
upgrading to 9.10). I closed the lid before the suspend was completely
done, which I think has been working. A short while later I tried to
wake up the machine, which had the late crescent moon symbol
