As I said in my last note, on 2009-11-09, I'm convinced that the problem was that the machine lost power while suspending. If the data structures don't record whether the state save completed, the resume would behave in this way. I don't have a good way to generate that condition, and I don't

On further testing, I'm convinced that the problem I saw was due to the machine powering down while it was performing the suspend operation -- the only peculiarity is that the crescent moon light on the machine was lit, as though it had been suspended -- it just didn't respond to any wake-up
