Same identical problem in Kubuntu 9.10 x64 version.
Why is this bug still marked as incomplete? Should be confirmed by now.

I should note that a while ago I started using « sshfs -o 'reconnect' »
for my mounts. I'm not sure if this hides the bug, or if it's gone.
Using this I don't see the same pattern as before. I don't get freezes
or obvious error messages anymore. However, accesses to the SSHFS-

You're right Reinhard, sorry for the spam.
I had checked my sources.list and uninstalled and re-installed the
packages a couple of times, but I think I had in APT's cache something
from a PPA. I force-downgraded to the Ubuntu version and cleaned the
cache, everything seems to work right now.

Extra info: I've tried creating symlinks with the expected version
number, for instance I linked /usr/lib/libavutil.so.50 to
/usr/lib/libavutil.so.49. This removed the warnings given by VLC (see
above) for libavutil, but it didn't work for libx264:

Hello Bryce,
Like you said, I'd very much like to have an “official” way of using
custom keyboard configurations. Manually editing X's config files after
each update is tiresome, and occasionally problematic*.
However, I'm not sure if this is a feature for X11 devs or for Gnome
itself. AFAIK it's

Of course... We're installing ktimetracker 4.3.1 under KDE 4.3.2...
Forcing installation does no harm though.
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of ktimetracker:
ktimetracker depends on libkdepim4 (= 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu6); however:
Version of libkdepim4 on system is 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu2.
As a side note, forcefully installing (dpkg -i --force-all) ktimetracker
4.3.1-0ubuntu6 'fixes' the problem. I guess it must be a packaging issue.
I can be bothered to debug this if you need me to.
I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 amd64 updated daily.
Cheers!

empty menus in ktimetracker

To make it work with Firefox 3.5+ on Karmic x64 i had to do the
following:
- sudo aptitude install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-bin sun-java6-plugin
- sudo aptitude purge openjdk-6-jre openjdk-6-jre-headless openjdk-6-jre-lib
icedtea6-plugin
- mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins && ln -s
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun
At the very list this is a bug in the “crash warning” applet, whatever
that is:
If it's a harmless warning then it shouldn't say “Your system has
encountered a serious error[,] might become unstable now and might need
to be restarted.” Actually, it shouldn't display it at all.
