Just finished installing feisty from scratch with the alternate install
cd. But problem is the same.

I have the very same problem in feisty with my usb hd. Never had this
problem in dapper or edgy.

I have ubuntu 6.10 on my server and desktop. When i'm on my
desktop/laptop i cannot play for example movie files from the smb share.
I aslo have an xbox running xmbc. And it can access the smb share
perfectly. So i think it's something on the client side. Not the server
side.
