I took a look at the documentation for the function to make sure this
behavior wasn't intentional, and it actually recommends calling
set_decorated before showing the window, even though that's what
triggers the bug:

This also happens to me on a Dell Inspiron 9300, with the Intrepid beta.
There was an update to the synaptics driver for xorg today, but the
problem still exists after installing it.
