Hi, to confirm, I'm still having the issue since a year ago, even on the latest
ubuntu.
I observe 3 or 4 seconds (more with more open windows) before the alt-tab
window appears. During this time, the system is not responsive, and thus I lost
the habit of using alt-tab, using the mouse to switch

I'm having this bug in Lucid. Compiz doesn't work with dual screen on my
computer so I have to use metacity instead. Of course, turning compositing off
is out of option.
I think the delay is caused by the time it takes to create the thumbnails in
the alt-tab window. I'm using a crap eeepc so it
just got that in 10.04

Happens when logging in, only when I use dual screens. Windows initially
don't have any decoration. I go around the problem by running metacity
--replace, or trying to turn on visual effects in Appearance. Turning
visual effects fails without any message, and none is

as someone how help teachers get tech in the class this is desastrous
our users are VERY low tech and it just create frustrations. i know i
can move them back using a script but what will it break in the futur ?
i just cant see the benefit being so great
