octave from the repository. Seems to work fine now.

This seems to affect me, too.
I installed Kubuntu 10.10 using btrfs as / and ext4 as /boot. Everything
worked fine until i decided to back everything up and change my / so it
has one "rootfs" subvolume (which i made as the default one) to be able
to create snapshots of the whole system.

As soon as xfce4-terminal is started, X starts to use much CPU (as high
as one complete core).

I tried to disable the pin-code (this is easy with umtsmon) on the usb-stick
and plug it into my notebook with ubuntu 8.10
