It's not a question of stablility, WebKit would have to be in main for
Epiphany to be able to built with it. WebKit is not a candidate for main
yet, and probably won't be until KDE start requiring it for KDE 4.1.

Actually, the polling is a red herring, that was /dev/scd0. The disk is
going about once per second however.

Polling is only supposed to happen with removable drives. Running "hal-
disable-polling --device /dev/sda" results in "The given drive don't use
removable media so it's not polled anyway." Aside the bad grammar, hal
polls anyway.

hald-addon-storage now polls the hard disk every 2 seconds. This causes
quite a lot of noise, and can't be good for the hard disk. I haven't
noticed this before today's HAL update.

When the computer is not in use for a while, the screen dims. I have not
set it to do that in gnome-power-manager. There has been no updates to
g-p-m, so I assume this is a HAL issue (which was updated).
