I am working with a fresh install of 12.04 and am using a conventional mouse. I am using a monitor in portrait mode, and am short of pixels in the right-left direction so I want to autohide the launcher. The autohide works, but I cannot turn the reveal sensitivity high enough. I have to jerk the

[Bug 449506] Re: No GUI option to set screen rotation of greeter

2012-04-30 Thread Bruce Dunn
Since this bug was originally filed in 2009, some versions of Ubuntu were able to present a login screen in portrait mode. This functionality seems to have been lost again, presumably in the switch to Unity. This problem should have high priority in light of the strategic ambitions of Ubuntu to b

[Bug 532080] Re: Single computer creates ubuntu one conflicts

2010-03-13 Thread Bruce Dunn
I have examined my syncdaemon.conf and it contains what you suggest is the correct setting: [__main__] log_level = DEBUG (not debug\n) As mentioned, my Ubuntu One client does not seem to be working at all (continual red X) - I think perhaps it has a problem which is stopping its operation.

Ubuntu One is not not connecting at all. Task bar icon has red x, and pressing "connect" when Ubuntu One is showing in the file manager reports "connecting", but never seems to get connected. Stopping and restarting Ubuntu One makes no difference. ** Attachment added: "syncdaemon.log" http://

[Bug 199448] Re: [upstream] CALC: can't drag&drop a single cell in the same sheet

2010-02-13 Thread Bruce Dunn
Open Office Calc has a "feature" that it doesn't treat single cells like multiple cells when dragging and dropping. If I remember correctly, this has been a point of contention in Calc design for years, as it doesn't behave the way that people expect (ie. the way that Excel does it). It has been br
