Over Christmas I dual booted into Windows and run a error check on my
NTFS drive. I also run my box with the case off for a few days. The
error check took ages, but finally completed. Since then I have not
encountered the crash problem.
Please could you mark this issue as closed. Thank you.
Yes, I was hoping that the move to 11.10 would fix it.

Title:
Kernel opps - kernel panic unknown cause

Hi Joseph,
I'll give it a go. I first saw the problem before I upgraded to 11.10,
so version 11.04.
Based on that what would be the best kernel version to try? 2.6.38 and
before?

Just added the comment above and it crashed again. The screen freezes
and the mouse and keyboard are unresponsive. Unfortunately, my other
machine that listens to the netconsole was not on, so I missed the log.
Is there another way to find the log, rather than netconsole?

Hi Joseph,
Tried upstream kernel v3.2-rc4-oneiric/ dated Dec 2nd. There were
errors during installation and I was unable to boot.
Happy to try something else.
