A friend of mine was able to figure out that GRUB2 was corrupt and he
was able to fix it for me. I was able to choose the older kernel from
the GRUB boot list. But then after I upgrade to 2.6.32-30, same
problem occurred. My desktop and newer laptops don't have this
problem.

My T30 and A31 running Ubuntu 10.04.2 both crashed after Kernel update.
The T30 has kernel panic while the A31 shows this:
