@Vish, Yeah, my bad, it seems that this bug is related to the RV515 generation. Whereas with my chipset (780G), previously I had this issue, and with the recent clutter update the bug was fixed. So it looks as if problems are still persisting from this generation and dosen't seem to be related to

I'm also seeing the white screen for so many seconds with an ati radeon hd 3200 with unity vesion 2.28. Also I'm not sure why after the white screen unity is unbearably slow with artifacts everywhere. Not sure if its the hardware because I'm using a desktop and not a netbook. -- White screen
