on Kubuntu Karmic (yes, I'm finally getting into visual novels).

Sure, but be careful as this is obviously quite "unofficial":
Download the DEB package for Jaunty's usbutils from here:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/usbutils
...And save it to your home directory. Then open up your Terminal and
force-install that package using the following command:
sudo
I am having the same Suspend problems mentioned above (on an Acer Aspire
One 110, using Karmic UNR); but while USB devices have not been
inaccessible for me, they did stop auto-mounting once I upgraded.
Downgrading to Jaunty's usbutils at least allowed me to auto-mount USB
devices again, although
I have a similar problem with my Acer AOA110-1698 -- however rather than
freezing after suspend, it completely freezes my system BEFORE the
machine actually suspends, forcing me to do a hard reboot.
However, I don't know how to retrieve any data that can help trace the
problem.
