I can confirm this, it happens on any partition that is not your current
instalation's.
But is this a bug? When attempting to delete a file in Nautilus, if the
file is in another partition it will tell me that it cannot move the
file to the Trash folder. Maybe this behaviour is intentional?

I can confirm this bug. Steps to reproduce it:
1) Open XChat with Unity;
2) Enable in XChat: Settings > Preferences > Alerts > Enable system tray icon;
3) Close the preferences window and close the XChat main window;
4) XChat is now inaccessible.

I'm using Maverick with a Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000 and a
Microsoft 1.1 mouse, and was having the issue described in this bug

I can reproduce the case with spaces:
irc_extra_hilight = foo bar
foo [gets highlighted, not expected]
bar [gets highlighted, not expected]
foo bar [gets highlighted, expected]
Also, I can also reproduce the problem with words preceded by !...@#$%*()_+,

I don't know what is the GNOME usability guideline about minimum display
resolutions, but this window measures ~660px. Most netbook screens have
about 1024px width x 600px height, so this clearly will not fit.
Designing this window in a more horizontal organization will certainly
improve usability
I can replicate this bug on Maverick, xchat 2.8.8-1ubuntu1. Not
completely sure if this flashing can be avoided, but it's definitely a
bug.

I could not reproduce this bug. Correct me if I understood it wrongly, but you
reported that:
When changing the View > Channel Switcher option, the bullet didn't switch from
Tree to Tabs and viceversa as expected. Is that what you meant?
Also, I didn't understand the issue with the View > User L
I can reproduce this bug. Here are the steps I used to reproduce it:
1) Connect with XChat and Konversation to the same server
2) Join the same channel
3) Use Konversation to change the topic to "Testing"
4) /part the channel in XChat
5) Change the topic to an empty string in Konversation
6) Rejoin
