These two commands helped me getting my kde4 system sounds back: fuser -k /dev/snd/* and sudo modprobe -r snd_hda_intel && sudo modprobe snd_hda_intel But this was a workaround for pulseaudio. Maybe it's a problem between phonon and pulseaudio. Only problem: no sound in dragon player. -- k
