I see that the feature that it seems to conflict with is the `[homes]` section in /etc/samba/smb.conf (which makes it so that every user's home directory is exported as a share), so maybe commenting out that whole section and restarting samba might do the trick. See

There's a PR[1] to port some of the plugins over to webkit2gtk, but it hasn't been merged yet and now that Bionic's released, we're not going to see the plugins reenabled for this Ubuntu release. :( They'll eventually be reenabled in the PPA[2] once the PR is merged though, so stay tuned. [1]
