I managed to get my hands on a LiveCD of Ubuntu 11.04 32bit and
experienced the same problem. This time it switch to a text console
before feezing. The last message on the console said panic occured,
switching back to text console. The caps lock flashes as before and I
need to hit the reset button
I've tried disabling the Broadcom STA proprietary wireless driver and
still the system freezes.
I've also given the kernal from PPA for Ubuntu Kernel PPA try but this
didn't resolve my problem.
