It's definitely the same font, I changed the system font to a really
curly one that is easily discernible and OOo matched it. So the only
difference now appears to be potentially how the font is being rendered
in the app.

I think you may have hit the issue referred to in the release notes.
Does uninstalling and reinstalling all the openoffice packages help
resolve your problem?

Unfortunately not unless you had enabled the option to 'Always create
backup copy' under Tools->Options->Load/Save->General, it is disabled by
default.

I didn't use ctrl-c vm-builder just bombed out probably due to other
