My neighbor has a wifi network with password protection. Anytime the
connection to my network drops (which is often), the Network Manager
tries to connect to my neighbors network, popping up a password dialog
that I have to dismiss. I may have manually selected this network in

This happened again the other night. At around 8:20 PM I closed the lid.
I observed the status lights and confirmed that the "throbber" was
indicating suspension. I then put the laptop in my bag and didn't take
it out again until the morning. At that time, the computer was powered

I see that I now have /sys/class/leds/iwl-phy1:assoc instead of
/sys/class/leds/iwl-phy0:assoc (and likewise with iwl-phy1:radio, etc.).

Same problem here. Started a few days ago (correlated with no relevant
changes that I can recall). Happens every time I switch to another
window or workspace: the window expands so that the menu and status bars
are where the top/bottom GNOME panels should be and the title bar isn't

I had the same problem. en-US is the default GNOME language, the default
returned by "locale", and even the "preferred language for displaying
pages." But the en-GB dictionary was the spell-checking default.

This problem disappeared after I wiped my disk and did a fresh OS
install (for unrelated reasons). Obviously, it had something to do with
bad configuration files. My previous install started as a clean install
of dapper in 2006 and had been upgraded to each subsequent release
through intrepid. Ther
