For all those who are hit by this and need to get their production
server up again ASAP, here's an emergency workaround (downgrading libc6
to 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.13):
x86:
dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libc-bin_2.11.1-0ubuntu7.13_i386.deb &&
dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.11.1-0ubuntu7.13_i

Public bug reported:
upgrading libc6 to 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.14 breaks libmysqlclient, which in
turn breaks almost everything on a web server (both amd64 and i386, I
had two production servers hit by this):

In Trusty, mandos-client does not copy the gpg binary to the initial

Had the same problem one one of my machines - dpkg --configure -a,
update-initramfs and update-grub were all hanging at the same point.
Reason for this was a stale "modprobe" process in state "D"
(uninterruptible sleep), which very probably was left by an unsuccessful
upgrade-manager run (which I
I don't know if this helps, but since 1.3.1 had some other problems too,
I've made a hardy PPA for 1.3.2 (which also has the fix for the remote

HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspen
Notice: this seems to be the same problem as described #217787, whereas
the later contains a patch which worked for me (I can add printers and
print test pages now, Hardy release/I386).
Steps to solve problem:
1.) download

I can confirm that 2.1+1075-0ubuntu9.1 fixes this bug, and #221087 too
