I seem to have overcome that issue by turning off myscreen effects
option and removing the driver for my graphics card. Also reduced screen
size to half. Even though I run a pentium4 3.0g chip and have 2 gig of
memory it will not run properly on full screen. It seems to be the frame
rate reduces as

PC runing Ubuntu 8.10
Occasionally recognises and plays DVD, on the occasion it does it flickers and
screen repeated flashes. Making it unwatchable.
Also have an issue with youtube video, sounds cuts out after a few minutes. Are
they related ?
