man pages for TestDisk 6.14 are obsolete
To manage notifications about
using ext2/3/4 filesystem
and deleted files from ext2. It can't undelete files from
ext3 and ext4.

Can you try TestDisk 6.11 ? 6.11 is available from Karmic or you can
- download http://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk-6.11.3.linux26.tar.bz2
- tar xjf testdisk-6.11.3.linux26.tar.bz2
- cd testdisk-6.11.3/linux/
- sudo ./testdisk_static

TestDisk PhotoRec, so it will be in the TODO of the package maintainers ;-)
