Hi All
I was able to find the cause of the /dev/null permissions not being
correct. I recently added in a rule (ZTEMF622.rule) to
/etc/udev/rules.d/
The rules for this file have been noted as suspicious: MODE="660",
GROUP="dialout"
I purged this rule and now everything is working fine.

Hi All
I have resolved this issue. After looking at Bug#193696 I found that my
permission to /dev/null had changed and this is the cause. I did a
$ ls -lh /dev/null
crw-rw 1 root dialout 1, 3 2008-07-19 17:58 /dev/null
When comparing this to my work box I get:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 3 2
