know if it will help, but it looks like there's an issue with scanning
for wireless networks:

Perhaps it would be more helpful if I mentioned that I am on Ubuntu
Lucid (10.04) using the rt73usb driver for my wireless card, and that I
did not experience any of these issues under Karmic (9.10) using the
same card.

I am also having similar issues that seem to be somewhat mitigated by
disabling wireless, turning off power management, then turning wireless
back on. However, that being said, I am still seeing outrageous latency
(generally .9ms - 2.5ms, but spiking up to 300ms for several trips) on
