Binary package hint: hw-detect

Sun Ultra 2 Enterprise Workstation running OBP 3.25. CDROM
Installed Feisty with no problem. Uses esp SCSI driver (see below)
Symptoms experienced with clean install of Sparc Gutsy server: 
Install starts fine with Boot CDROM from {ok} prompt.
"No CDROM detected" message after keyboard selection. Found SCSI driver not 
loaded. (esp driver required). Installer seems to think Ultra 2 is a PC since 
looking for PCI bus 
Pressed ALT F2 to attempt to load "esp" module but FATAL error no esp module. 
Search reveals no esp module present.
Also tried to upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy  simply hangs.
Cannot do network install since no network
