ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04
Package: linux-image-3.13.0-24-generic 3.13.0-24.47
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.
I've been running 14.04 for about a month. This morning was the first
time I saw this happen. When I finally got it to boot into any graphics
mode, it generated and submitted an error report for Xorg, which I could
re-upload here if it would be any help to anyone.
(/var/crash/_usr_bin_Xorg.0.crash)
Same issue with 14.04 upgraded from 13.10. The hotcorners consistently
reset on reboot, and it's fixed when turned off and on in Tweak Tool.

Public bug reported:
I'm on Ubuntu, using Chrome browser. I like running the browser in a
non-maximized window, where the height is not max height of the window,
and the width is not either. However, whenever I close the browser and
re-open it, it will adjust its' height slightly each time I open
I've received this a couple of times when exiting my *final* tab with
Ctrl-Shift-W (default shortcut for 'Close Tab').

As a temporary work around just manually add

Yes?
(On my system, nothing else in /etc comes anywhere near the size of
/etc/X11/core. So, that's likely to be the only file tripping this error
for a while.)

Same here. The lock screen is displayed but the keyboard and mouse are
locked. I can't access the TTYs, though I can do a hard restart with
M-SysReq-B.
I upgraded to 13.04 from 12.10. There were minor issues during the
installation process, which I repaired the usual way with dpkg-
reconfigure -a
Success! After a lot of searching around using the information from apt-
cache, I wasn't able to find much more information but the versioning
that was present in the logs. The closest lead I found was a dead xorg-
testing repository which was inactive and relied on xorg-edgers. Trying

Thanks Brian! I've attached the logs and intend to pore over them myself
now that I know where they are. I'll update the bug if I discover anything
relevant. I assume I have something custom-sourced that simply wasn't
cleaned up in a ppa-purge, since I'm more than a little apt-happy.
