I am using 3.2.0-27-generic x86_64 kernel without any suspend problem.
I have tried many combination of power off/on, reboot into Win7and
suspend/resume, then reboot into Linux and it seems still working.
So I hope regression has gone for other user as well and case can be
finally closed.
--
Yo
Case is more complex then I had thought.
Finally 3.2.0-26 still not as good as -24 was for me.
There are two different ways of power on
1. normal power on
2. battery removal power off, then on (it is necessary to remove battery to
be able to switch on in case of suspend/resume poweroff bug)
@Joseph
I have already confirmed above that -26- solved my problem.
#uname -a:
Linux csabkanb 3.2.0-26-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 14 17:49:24 UTC 2012
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
#dpkg -l|egrep "(image-3.2.0-26|nvidia-current|)"
ii linux-image-3.2.0-26-generic 3.2.
I have upgraded all packages in my 12.04 LTS (including
3.2.0-26-generic) and I am able to suspend/resume like before -25-
@unratito. I suggest you to try it as well maybe helps

In 12.04 LTS I don't use brightness-applet anymore and the Fn+F7/F8 is
