user operation of the system. This means that audio stops when switching
to a virtual console from xorg. This defeats the point of having players

I get this as well but after a normal startup. Seems to be only in
Firefox. This is on a EeePC 701 with 11.04.

Is there a work around for this yet ? I tried the one suggested but I
still get logged out on hitting the 2 key. I can handle some beta/alpha
problems but getting logged out in the middle of doing something in
Firefox is a little hard to take. Can't I just install another login
manager and do away

This is an infrastructure bug. I've had this behaviour happen in various
entry field boxes.
Sometimes when I enter a password or web address when I press enter I
get logged out of the system. When logging back in again this does not
happen again

I have sought support information for this bug but it keeps rearing it's
ugly head. I have been told that my USB hardware is at fault but that
does not match with the behavior. The problem arises if I forget to
*take out* a Hauppage Mytv.t stick before plug

Here is the old Xorg log file that I copied after restarting to GDM. I
copied using the ctrl-alt-f1 terminal so it should be the right one.

WiCD work for me as well :)
Why not make WiCD a default install or at least part of he main packages
for the moment ? Then it can always be an alternative to whatever
replaces network manager.

Hitting the full screen button to go out of full screen makes Ubuntu
logout to the login menu. Ubuntu plays the default login sound, even
though I have no login sound set. This has happened to me a few times
now although it does not always do it
