Mint 17 64-bit still has this problem from ISOs put on USB drives via
unetbootin. But the problem does not exist when the ISO was put on the
USB drive via usb-creator-gtk.

I gave up on it a while back. Nobody seemed to care about my little bit of
whining. I hope you are more successful! I know of many situations where
multiple users logging in and working on a single Linux server would be a
great big plus.

I can copy the paragraph from Thunderbird or Firefox and paste it into
gedit and every character appears.
In Firefox and Thunderbird a page being displayed sometimes has sections
with different fonts. Some sections will have every character appear as

When setting up RPM I had to answer Forward to continue the
installation. Forward was the only option. Forward caused the

My fade-to-black issues was fixed by these improvements, thanks.
But I have a similar problem without the black. Screen frozen and no
response from any keyboard or mouse activity. ssh still active and the
Recent updates have corrected the problem. (compiz was updated, perhaps
that was the fix.)

identifying the log file. I have added other log files and I don't
remember what they relate to. I would like to see the path to the log
file, or be able to enter a description

I suggest someone that likes Rhythombox Music Player 0.12.3 on Ubuntu
have their Grandmother, or Mother try to use the program. Really great
software doesn't need a users guide, it teaches you how to use itself.
Rhythombox has lots to learn.

Actually I'm happy to discover that I can select and copy everything in
the Device information box:

Percentage charge: 100.0%
Vendor: Samsung SDI

Serial number: 20938
Model: DELL PW7738
Capacity: 96.0% (Good)
Current charge: 83.1 Wh
9.04 was working fine. I upgraded to pre-release 9.10 and 45.6% is th
constant display on the system tray. But when I click on the system tray
icon, then click on Laptop battery (45.6%) Device information says it's
charged at 100.0%.

I just had a chance to try this on the same VPN.pcf on Ubuntu 9.04 and
found it has the same problem. kvpnc imports fine, but vpnc and Network
Manager fail to import the Cisco VPN PCF file.

network-manager no longer exits without message when I import the .PCF;
that's GREAT.
But it fails to connect.
kvpn imported the .PCF and connects. It looks like kvpn has an imported
